Bayani is the woman who protects the crown on your head.  Your hair is your crown and is often seen as a sign of strength.  The word is derived from the Yoruba language. Children born with locked hair were put under the protection of a special woman and only that woman was allowed to groom their hair.   

Bayani Locs is an extension of Ayurban Wellness specializing in Natural lifestyle solutions, and heritage image consulting which includes: the establishment and maintenance of natural hair micro locs. Founded by Dr. Omilade, (Dawn Rhodes), Bayani Locs provides natural hair-locking services to make everyone look and feel their most beautiful. I come from 4 generations of hair professionals. My great great-great-grandfather started this hair journey for our family and passed the natural hair tradition down through our family. I have personally worn my hair natural for the last 20 years. I grew up with a mom who rocked a big fluffy afro and would have my braids down to my rear end. I had no idea what she was teaching me. It was self-love and preservation of self and culture.  I want to help all those who want to reconnect with their empowered inner self and rock their natural hair locs. It is more than hair this is about your image, heritage, and self-esteem. As a trained medical professional I research the best products and only use high quality and natural styling products.  Additionally, I am also proficient in creating hair rituals to cleanse, refresh, and renew your spirit!  Dr. Omilade is  Sisterlocks (TM ) trained and knowledgeable about hair loss and holistic options for improving your hair.
